What is one of your favorite types of nonfiction to read? OR What is one of your favorite nonfiction topics to read about?
This was actually asked for July, but since I got super busy during the second half of that month, I sort-of forgot to publish this until the first day of August. Technically, I guess I'm just 1 day behind, so let's pretend July has 32 days instead of 31, right?
I don't really think of myself having a favorite type or nonfiction or a favorite nonfiction topic to read about. Like most things in my life, my likes tends to be an eclectic mix, often just being a book which seems interesting. I would say I tend to have a soft place in my heart for history books, especially since in college I'd pick up an Alison Weir popular history on some group of English Royal Family member from the Tudor or York/Lancastrian dynasty for "fun read" and I quickly read through all of the Sarah Vowell books once I started reading them. (You'd never guess I was a history major, right?)
I sometimes find myself getting caught in a small rut where I'll find some topic interesting and then read (or at least plan to read) a bunch of different books on the subject. I haven't done that in a while though. The closest I've been to a rut recently is that I've noticed I've read quite a few memoirs and biographies lately.
How about you? Do you have any favorite non-fiction topics or genres you find yourself gravitating towards?
