Hopping On...

Book Blogger Hop
In the spirit of the Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list!!

Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
Most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!

This week's question:
Right this instant, what book are you dying to get your hands on (past, present, or future?)

Fiction:
It's not been translated into English yet, but I really am looking forward to 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami.  The book has been out for probably over a year now in Japan, and while I know next to nothing about the story line, but I really love his books.  Murakami's work includes fictional novels, collections of short stories, and even a few works of non-fiction such as Underground, interviews with survivors of the 1995 Tokyo sarin gas attacks.

1Q84 comes in three volumes and the first volume should be released in English in just over a year in September 2011.

Non-Fiction:
A few months back I heard an NPR interview (on WBEZ's WorldView) about Mac McClelland's For Us Surrender Is Out of the Question: A Story From Burma's Never-Ending War.  What I caught of her interview was really interesting, and despite having known that there was a war going on in Burma/Myanmar, I probably should know more and this sounded like a compelling read.

Have you considered added "Google Friend Connect" to your blog, so folks can easily follow your blog?

Google Friend Connect is simply a way for your blog to have "followers" or "members".

When I looked at your profile I see you are following a dozen or so blogs. (You probably did so by using Google Friend Connect.)

If you add GFC to your blog then your followers will know when you've added a post to your blog.

Thanks for popping by this morning. :)

I haven't heard of 1Q84 yet but I'm definitely going to put it on the list. The only Murikami book I've read so far is Kakfa on the Shore but I loved it. I have Wind up Bird Chronicles on the shelf but sadly haven't gotten to it yet.

Happy reading!
