Awards!
I received both of these awards from Daisy at Between the Pages. They are my first blog awards and I'm very grateful for them, especially since I've just been blogging on this site since June of this year. Thank you!
The Rules:
1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered.
3. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
4. Versatile Blogger Award only: Share 7 things about yourself.
1. I keep a master list of all the books I've read called The Doomsday Book. This the same name my father's called his similar list, which was in turn named after the ancient Doomsday Book of England. I have two paper copies of mine. One of which is a small Moleskine notebook and the other is a bound notebook with a page from Tess of the D'ubervilles on the cover. Eventually, I'll probably put it up on here as well.
2. I started my blog with encouragement from my friend Connie at Constance Reader's Guide to Throwing Books with Great Force.
3. My major in undergrad was history with minors in English and political science. I wanted to try tossing in a few foreign languages in there, too...but alas didn't get a chance to. But that's another story...
4. Even when I was the age when most people are reading YA literature, I wasn't. Instead, I started reading the original 1950's 1960's and more modern James Bond novels written by Ian Flemming and John Gardner, respectively.
5. I can't decide on my favorite Shakespeare play. It's between Hamlet, Midsummer Night's Dream, and either Richard III or Henry V.
6. Apart from reading, I love art and films. I try to get to the Art Institute of Chicago a few times a year. A lot of the films I like tend to be more independent, older, or foreign/non-American.
7. I love traveling. Mostly, I want to see more of Europe. I've only been once and gotten to see Vienna, Austria; Prague, Czech Republic; and Salzburg, Austria. I definitely wasn't there long enough or got to see enough! Paris, London, and Poland being chief among those places I need to go sooner rather than later.
And for blogs I'm passing this award on to:
1. Constance Reader's Guide to Throwing Books With Great Force
2. Coffee and a Book Chick
3. Dead White Guys: An Irreverent Guide to Classic Literature
4. Consumed by Books
5.English Major's Junk Food
6. Literary Musings
7. Perpetual Page Turner, who, I should add is having a week-long giveaway in honor of her birthday.

Thank you!!
I love Constance Reader's site as well! And I love visiting Europe as well -- my husband and I haven't been to the places you've been, but we definitely are considering Prague!
