In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren. This won't be a full week of books, but more like in the past few weeks/month, hence why this is going to be a long list.
Like many people, my local Borders store has closed, leaving a large section of the local mall vacant. This actually leaves me without a major bookseller in the immediate area as our Barnes & Nobel closed at the beginning of the year. So, the question is, what did I get with their liquidation deals and what have I gotten recently from other sources, including the book store at the library? A fair bit, to be honest! However, before I get to that, a quick update on what I read this week and what I'm currently reading.

What I read this week
The Honored Dead : a Story of Friendship, Murder, and the Search for Truth in the Arab World - Joseph Braude (Review will be up in mid-July to correspond with a blog tour)
What I'm currently reading
The Irregulars: Roald Dahl and the British Spy Ring in Wartime Washington - Jennet Conant
A Novel Bookstore - Laurence Cossé (Au bon roman)
Prep - Curtis Sittenfeld (audio book/re-read)
And now for what I've bought/received recently. This is more so over a few months, so it's not like I got all of these this week, but 28 books is quite a bit. Enough to make a tower of books.

Her Fearful Symmetry - Audrey Niffenegger
The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco
Out of that we have the 2009 Man Booker Prize (Wolf Hall,) the winning author of the 1947 Nobel Prize (André Gide), plus a few books I've already read (Her Fearful Symmetry, Tao of Pooh, Undress me in the Temple of Heaven, The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance, The Distant Land of My Father), a handful of former best-sellers, a few books/ARCs sent to me by publishers, and a even one or two books I've had on my to-read list for a long time (Snow Crash). Its a fairly good selection of fiction, non-fiction, and even a dash of poetry.
All and all, I think I'll be having a very busy reading summer if I can knock down this lingering cold and get back to reading more often. What bookish acquisitions have you gotten recently?

Great set! I'm a new follower too.
I loved Wolf Hall. The Irregulars sounds very interesting as well. If you're a fan of historical fiction, you'd love Jeff Shaara. Have you read anything by him? He mostly writes about American wars, but he has several great books about WWI and WWII. I just finished his new book The Final Storm.
